Mizner estate in Palm Beach sells for $24M
Peter and Janet Tigges sold a Venetian-style estate overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway in Palm Beach for $24 million.
The couple sold the 8,630-square-foot estate at 800 South County Road for $2,780 per square foot, records show. The trust of Ann DesRuisseaux of Palm Beach purchased the property.
The property spans 1.4 acres and includes a six-bedroom house, a three-bedroom guest house, a dock with a boat lift, a pool with cabana and tropical gardens.
The home was originally built in 1928, designed by the famed South Florida architect Addison Mizner, who was known for his Mediterranean Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival style. The Tigges purchased the estate for $1.6 million in 1987, records show.
The property was listed three years ago for $32.5 million, according to the Palm Beach Daily News. It sold off-market. The Tigges are antique car collectors, the Miami New Times reported.
The majority of the priciest home sales in the tri-county region in 2019 were on the barrier island of Palm Beach. At the top of the list was the $105 million purchase of the 10-bedroom estate at 1415 South Ocean Boulevard by billionaire hedge funder Steven Schonfeld and his wife Brooke.
