What's new in Boca Raton
The real estate market isn't the only thing on fire in Boca Raton. A lot of new things are coming: The Boca Center for the Arts, The Brightline, and more! |
Boca Raton Center for Arts & Innovation: Decades in the Making |
The Edith & Martin Stein Family Foundation recently made a
seven-figure donation to The Boca Raton Arts District Exploratory Corporation (BRADEC). This pledge of $5M will help break the ground for the Boca Raton Center for Arts & Innovation. This center will be Boca Raton’s hub for all things tech, culture, and education. Upon the full raising of the capital and completion of the design, planning, permitting and pre-construction phases, construction will commence, with an estimated 24-28 month construction schedule. The newly-improved amphitheater will be first finished, expected by 2025, with the full center slated to open in 2027. |
Under Construction in the Polo Shoppes! You’ve probably seen the construction (or influx of new shoppers in the Regency Court Publix!) Slated to be reopened early-2022, the Publix in the Polo Shoppes on Military is undergoing major renovations. Though unsubstantiated by official sources, rumor has it, the Polo Shoppes will feature Boca’s first two-story Publix, complete with an indoor restaurant. I guess we’ll have to wait and see! |
(The Artist Formerly Known as) The Mizner Trail Golf Course The 127-acre Mizner Trail Golf Course between Camino Real and SW 18th has officially been sold for $33.2M. In its place, Boca will gain seven new gated communities with a single common amenity center. There is currently no public timeline, but this will undoubtedly bring a lot of value to the already valuable Central/South Boca. |
The Brightline Begins
Brightline trains will be uniting the state of Florida like never before. Boca’s 9,035SF train station has received a $1.5 million federal grant. Located in the 1300 block of Eighth St., construction is on track for a summer 2022 opening. Stops will include Aventura, Boca Raton, Port Miami, West Palm Beach (?), Central Miami (?), and Orlando. |
